Problem:

Applying the R12.1.3 RUP patch to a R12.1.1 Vision instance on Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Service Pack 2. After setting the _disable_fast_validate to TRUE in the initVIS12.ora file, and then bounced the 11g database. Restarted the R12.1.3 RUP patch (patch 9239090) from the beginning. The following error occurred while patching:

Manually recompile the invalid libraries and then continue patch.

Note that when these four libraries were manually compiled, they still returned errors. Nevertheless, the patch was continued by entering Yes at the prompt.

Oracle Forms objects not generating in Patch 9239090 (R12.1.3 RUP)

Problem: While running R12.1.3 patch (9239090), the following error appears:

Solution:

Manually regenerate the forms, and then continue patch 9239090.

Load: Class Oracle/Apps/Fnd/Formsclient/ Formslauncher.Class Not Found.

Problem: When accessing any menu that launches core forms, get this error:

load: class oracle/apps/fnd/formsClient/FormsLauncher.class not found

Solution: Check the proxy server settings in the browser and ensure that addresses to bypass are correct.

Use the ‘hostname*’ format in the proxy server settings.

Steps for resolution:

  1. Launch a browser window.
  2. Go to Connection Settings for the Browser
  3. Select the Proxy exception list, the list of sites you have specified, for which no proxy is required
  4. Verify / validate all entries in this list.
  5. For e.g., you will need to add an entry like *.oracle.com instead of oracle.com to exclude all sites having oracle.com in the domain name
  6. Save the changes.
  7. Login and access the Applications forms in a new browser window.
